lover:
take me. i am yours. bury me. wrap your cold, cloddy arms around me. bless me. i bless you, mother and lover. i honor your richness, your fecundity, your sensuality. i favor your stink your rot your decay. loam, pebbles, soil, rock. bearer of seeds. nurturer of change. of death and decay. accept me. child of dust. from dust i came and to dust i will return. you are my beginning and end. and everything in-between. i cannot escape your darkness. fill my eyes, my ears, my nostrils, my mouth, my fingernails. you are my home, my safe place. take me welcome me embrace me. break me down and turn me into something else.

letter to the water
lover:
take me. i am yours. rock me. rock me on the cradle of the sea. endlessly rocking rocking rocking on the blue-green waves. bathed in salt and sea foam. i am your child and your plaything, mother and lover. i honor your mutability, your insinuation, your inevitability. i favor your salt, your coldness, your life. puddles, drops, drips, rivers, oceans. gushing, flowing, spreading, pooling. be mine. i am yours. let me drink you in. taste your silvery salt. let me cry you in endless streams. ah, fill me, wash me, cleanse me, refill me. let the sea change begin. take me, cradle me, your child--turn me into something else.

letter to the air
lover:
take me. i am yours. carry me. whisk me to the mountain top. just you and i and snow and ice. blow through my head and clear out the cobwebs. fill my lungs. tickle my nose. batter my body. i honor your strength, your gentleness, your scent. I favor your touch, your playfulness, your mischief. touch me. take me. carry me. blow me to the highest peak of winter, breathe me the warmth of magnolias and mint. blow me to the east, to orange blossoms and opium. carry me to the dusty west. lift me up, bear me up, make me feel like i can fly again. bite me, nip at my fingers and toes. curl up in my coat. be my new soul. inspire me. mother and lover, breath new life into me. turn me into something else.
jewel, child of sighs
letter to the fire
lover:
take me. i am yours. ignite me. make the sparks fly. let the burn marks cover my body and soul. scorch my brain. fire my soul. burn my body. i honor your power, your passion, your mutability. i favor your dance, your beauty, your freedom. i embrace you, i embrace the danger. i strike the match and blow. engulf me. encompass me. surround me. burn me beyond recognition. let me fly to the sun, let me descend to hell. let me cup the flame of you, mother and lover. i kiss the volcano. i lick the lava. i breathe fire. hot coals, candle flames, lanterns and blowtorches. ashes to ashes. destroy me and remake me in the furnace. take me, sizzle crack and pop. i am yours. burn me, turn me into something else.
