The one-eyed jack
The one-eyed jack
came & took
my girl away
I'll get that bastard back
With his cards & his sack
& his wicked tarot pack
a mix
of tricks
and cheap gaudy gimcrack
He dealt her hearts,
in spades, she fell
fell
fell
into his gambler's hell.
I took my suit
to the diamond king who
didn't care
& wouldn't dare
do a god-damn fucking thing
Then the clubbish queen
Took jack's green
& smiled,
beguiled
Behind her painted screen
Only double-deuce
Revealed the ruse
But too late,
too late
For she had been seduced
& I couldn't get her back
No, I couldn't call her back
my voice
her choice
all lost to laughing jack.
Now she walks the night
She can't bear the light
Her lips & thighs
Cheeks & eyes
once filled with summer skies
now ROT with a whorish blight
Her jaw hangs slack
Her eyes are black
and blue
all due
to jack's loving smacks
But she plays the hand she's been dealt
& bears his licking belt
I can't get her back
I can't trace the tracks
My lovely daughter's gone
Back to his bayou shack.
But that one-eyed jack?
That gambling rat?
I'll sure as HELL get that fucking bastard back...
That's a fact.
